Program overview

Seneca's Office Administration – Health Services (MES) program is designed to equip students with specialized, practical, and hands-on training necessary for a successful career in various healthcare settings. This twelve-month diploma program focuses on developing essential skills such as computer proficiency, medical terminology, clinical and office procedures, and medical ethics. Students will also enhance their communication skills, which are critical for success in both the program and the medical field. The program emphasizes effective communication from the start, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for their roles in healthcare environments.

Program structure

The Office Administration – Health Services program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience over 3 semesters (12 months). The program includes:

  • Hands-on training in various healthcare settings
  • Field placement opportunities to gain real-world experience
  • Flexible delivery options, including online and in-person classes
  • Focus on developing essential skills such as written communication, organization, and proficiency in specialized medical software

Students will have the chance to participate in an unpaid field placement during their third semester, allowing them to apply their knowledge in a formal work environment. Alternatively, students who do not meet the academic requirements for placement can opt for a Medical Office Simulation course. Successful completion of either option is mandatory for graduation.
