Seneca's Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BSN) program is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in nursing. This program emphasizes practical experience in human anatomy, physiology, and clinical skills through state-of-the-art labs. Students will earn a BScN credential, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to become healthcare leaders. The program is structured to provide a diverse and global perspective on nursing, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the healthcare industry.

Program structure

The Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing program at Seneca is structured to be completed in 8 semesters (4 years) for full-time students. The program offers three distinct streams:

  • Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BSN) – Complete the full program in four years with summer breaks.
  • Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing (Fast track) (BSNF) – Complete the program in three years with eight consecutive semesters.
  • Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing (Bridge) (BSNB) – Designed for current practicing RPNs to complete the degree via a bridging pathway.

This program is delivered in a hybrid format, combining online coursework with in-person learning. Students will engage in clinical education across various settings, enhancing their learning experience through focused simulation in advanced labs. The curriculum aligns with the entry-to-practice competencies defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), ensuring that graduates are eligible to apply for registration as Registered Nurses in Ontario.
