The Medical Esthetics Nursing (MDN) program is designed for Canadian registered nurses or registered practical nurses who wish to expand their career opportunities in the growing field of cosmetic treatments. As esthetic procedures gain popularity, this graduate certificate equips professionals with the necessary skills and hands-on experience to perform various medical esthetics treatments, including laser hair removal, microneedling, anti-aging treatments, chemical peels, and cosmetic injections. Academic Requirements

The admission requirements for the Medical Esthetics Nursing (MDN) program are as follows:

Ontario university/college degree, college diploma, or equivalent in nursing, medicine, or a related field of study.
Proof of registration as a licensed nurse (RN/RPN/NP) with unrestricted practice with the College of Nurses of Ontario or equivalent registration in another Canadian province.
OR proof of registration with unrestricted practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario or equivalent registration in another Canadian province.

For international students, additional requirements include:

All international applicants must meet Seneca’s English requirements.
Additional documents/assessments may be required upon request.
You must hold a valid work permit or study permit that authorizes you to practice nursing in Ontario to study in this program. This includes a work permit or a study permit that allows you to work without restrictions anywhere in Canada. If your permit does not allow you to work in health services, limits you to a specific type of employment, or limits you to work in a specific place outside of Ontario, this is not a document that would permit you to practice nursing in Ontario.

Canadian citizens or permanent residents educated outside of Canada must provide a WES or an ICAS credential evaluation.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

All applicants to the Medical Esthetics Nursing (MDN) program must demonstrate proficiency in English. The following English proficiency tests are accepted, along with their minimum score requirements for Graduate Certificate programs:

CAEL CE and CAEL online: Minimum 70 (Writing no less than 60)
Cambridge English Exams (B2 First/FCE, C1 Advanced/CAE or C2 Proficiency/CPE): Minimum 176 with no skill below 169
Duolingo: Minimum score 120 to 125
IELTS Academic: Minimum 6.5 with no skill below 6.0
PTE Academic: Minimum score 60
TOEFL (including MyBest TOEFL and Home Edition): No skill below 4.5 out of 6 (or 22 out of 30)

Please note that these requirements are the minimum cut-offs, and meeting them does not guarantee admission. Highly competitive program seats will be offered to the most qualified applicants based on ranking from highest to lowest.
