Program Overview

The BCIT Human Resource Management Advanced Placement is a nine-month full-time program tailored for individuals who have already completed a degree or diploma and are looking to transition into a career in human resource management. This program equips students with essential skills to create performance management policies, employee compensation packages, and effective hiring criteria. Graduates are also eligible for the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation program, which may offer exemptions from the National Knowledge Exam (NKE). The program is delivered in person at the Burnaby campus, providing a collaborative learning environment.

Program Structure

The Human Resource Management program is structured as follows:

This program includes a unique Business Consulting Project in the final term, where students work in small teams to solve real HR problems for companies. Additionally, students have the opportunity to join the BCIT Human Resource Association (HRA), which offers networking and mentorship opportunities. The program is designed to foster collaboration among a small cohort of 40-50 students, enhancing the learning experience through teamwork and practical assignments.
