The Double Degree - Bachelor Of Science - Earth Science & Bachelor Of Education - Intermediate/Senior program at Lakehead University is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in education while gaining a solid foundation in Earth Science. This unique program allows students to earn two degrees concurrently, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to teach at the Intermediate and Senior levels. Program structure

The Double Degree program spans a total of five years, combining both the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees. The structure of the program is as follows:

  • Students must complete requirements of the partnering Honours degree program.
  • Includes a Pre-Professional Program Education component.
  • Students are required to choose two teachable subjects.
  • First Year includes foundational courses in Geology, Chemistry, English, and Education.
  • Second Year continues with advanced Geology courses and electives.
  • Third Year focuses on further specialization in Geology and Education electives.
  • Fourth and Fifth Years are dedicated to the 2-Year Professional Program in Education.
