The Double Degree - Honours Bachelor of Arts & Science - English & Bachelor of Education - Primary/Junior program at Lakehead University is designed for students who wish to combine their passion for the arts and sciences with a commitment to education. This unique program allows students to earn two degrees concurrently, equipping them with a diverse skill set that is highly valued in today’s job market. Program Structure

The Double Degree program spans a total of six years, integrating both the Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science and the Bachelor of Education. The structure of the program is as follows:

  • Completion of a total of 20 Full Course Equivalents (FCEs) over the duration of the program.
  • Students must maintain an overall average of 70% in their Interdisciplinary Studies Major and related courses.
  • The program includes a mix of Interdisciplinary Studies courses and courses from two chosen disciplines.
  • Students will engage in both theoretical and practical components of education, preparing them for teaching roles.
  • Opportunities for electives and interdisciplinary learning are available throughout the program.
