The Double Degree - Honours Bachelor of Arts - English & Bachelor of Education - Intermediate/Senior (Accelerated) program at Lakehead University is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in education while also developing a strong foundation in English literature and language. This unique program allows students to earn two degrees concurrently, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to teach at the Intermediate and Senior levels. The program emphasizes a comprehensive understanding of English, alongside essential pedagogical training, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for the challenges of modern education.

Program Structure

The Double Degree program is structured to be completed in a five-year accelerated format. Students are required to take courses during the Spring and Summer sessions to maintain the accelerated pace. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Completion of a concurrent program that integrates both the Honours Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education.
  • Students must maintain an overall average of 70% in English courses to continue in the accelerated program.
