Program Overview

Humber’s Welding Techniques certificate program is designed to introduce prospective welders to the trade. The program aims to facilitate employment and entry into the apprenticeship program by providing practical experience with trade regulations and practices. Students will gain a solid understanding of various technical theories and elements of the welding trade.

Topics covered include health and safety, blueprint reading, applied math, communication, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, and all position structural welding. Students will learn valuable skills using the latest industry software and working in fully equipped labs and shops. Skilled instructors highlight current industry trends and replicate situations that apprentices and skilled tradespeople encounter in their daily work. Upon completion, students are eligible to be tested for the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) certification.

The Welding Techniques program is structured over a duration of 2 semesters. It offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge for a successful career in welding. The program includes:
