Program Overview

The Construction Techniques (Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC and Welding) program at Conestoga College is designed for those looking to enter the trades. This one-year Ontario College Certificate program focuses on safety and hands-on skills, providing a solid foundation for students. With experienced faculty guiding you through the learning process, you will explore key concepts across four different trades. The program is structured in seven-week blocks, allowing for an immersive experience in carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, and welding. This program not only prepares you for a rewarding career but also strengthens your math and employment skills, giving you the flexibility to pursue further education in related fields.

Program Structure

The Construction Techniques program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience over a period of one year, divided into two academic terms. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Duration: 1 year (2 academic terms)
  • Delivery Method: In-person classes at the Cambridge – Reuter Dr. campus
  • Hands-on training in four trades: carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and welding
  • Unique seven-week block format for each trade, allowing focused learning
  • Opportunity to develop essential math and employment skills

This program is highly competitive, and students are encouraged to apply early to secure their spot. It is important to note that students living outside of Ontario are not eligible to apply.
