Program Overview

If you have a passion for food and nutrition management, dietetics, and coaching others, you can become a leader in food services with Fanshawe’s Nutrition and Food Service Management program. This two-year Ontario College Diploma program is designed for food enthusiasts who want to deepen their knowledge of nutrition or pursue a career in health care and related food services.

Program Structure

The Nutrition and Food Service Management program is structured to provide a comprehensive education in food service management and nutrition. The program is designed to be completed in 60 weeks and includes a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

Key features of the program structure include:

  • Two five-week field placements to gain hands-on experience.
  • Courses covering food production, food safety, menu planning, and therapeutic nutrition.
  • Graduates earn two credentials: a Culinary Skills certificate after the first year and a Nutrition and Food Services Management diploma upon completion.
  • Pathway opportunities to pursue a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Brescia University College.
  • Accreditation by the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM).
