Fanshawe's Dental Assisting program equips students with essential skills for a rewarding career as a Certified Dental Assistant. This program emphasizes the development of both technical and interpersonal skills necessary for providing patient care and chair-side support. Students will learn to assist dentists during various procedures, including fillings, crowns, and extractions. Program Structure

The Dental Assisting (Levels I and II) program at Fanshawe College is designed to be completed in 36 weeks. This full-time program offers a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for a successful career in dental assisting. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Hands-on training in a newly renovated simulation lab that mimics a real dental office.
  • Two work placements at dental offices to gain practical experience.
  • Supportive learning environment with mentorship from experienced professors.
  • Opportunities to rotate through specialty practices in the London area.

Upon completion, graduates will be well-prepared to take the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB) Exam and pursue accreditation with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association and the Canadian Dental Assistants Association.
