Program Overview

The Woodworking Technology Ontario College Advanced Diploma program at Conestoga College is a comprehensive three-year course designed to equip students with essential skills in woodworking. Delivered at one of the most advanced woodworking training facilities in North America, this program emphasizes hands-on learning. Students will gain proficiency in operating woodworking machinery, laminating, veneering, machining, sanding, assembly, and finishing. Program Structure

The Woodworking Technology program spans a 3-year period, structured to provide a thorough understanding of woodworking practices. The program is divided into three distinct years:

• Year 1: Focuses on the setup and operation of woodworking machinery, along with foundational skills in laminating, veneering, machining, sanding, assembly, and finishing.
• Year 2: Involves extensive project work and introduces production management skills, including the manufacturing of kitchen cabinets and architectural millwork.
• Year 3: Concentrates on plant layout, materials handling, quality control, cost estimating, and computer-aided drafting.

Additionally, the program includes embedded Levels 1, 2, and 3 of the trade schooling for an Ontario cabinetmaker apprenticeship, providing students with a recognized advantage when entering the workforce. The optional co-op stream consists of three co-op work terms, allowing students to apply their in-school training in real industrial settings. The academic semesters are structured as follows:
