The Welding Engineering Technician - Robotics program at Conestoga College is a unique 2-year Ontario College Diploma designed to equip students with comprehensive welding skills. Through hands-on practical labs, students will utilize the latest equipment in a state-of-the-art facility. This program prepares graduates for a rewarding career in manufacturing automation, welding robotics, and metal fabrication. Students will learn to create and read blueprints, understand metals and their characteristics, and gain knowledge in welding automation and robot programming. The program also emphasizes safe work practices and includes practical experience in weld inspection methods.

Program structure

The Welding Engineering Technician - Robotics program is structured to provide a thorough education over a period of 2 years. The program includes:

  • Hands-on practical labs using the latest equipment
  • Comprehensive training in welding skills

This program also covers all learning outcomes for Level 1 of the Welder (456A) and Metal Fabricator – Fitter (437A) apprenticeship programs in Ontario. Students have the option to pursue an optional co-op stream, which includes one co-op work term, providing valuable real-world experience.
