Program Overview

The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Technician program (HRAC) at Georgian College is designed to equip students with essential skills for a high-demand field. This program prepares graduates to work for employers or even start their own businesses. With a focus on hands-on experience, students will engage in a co-op work term that provides practical exposure to the industry. The program is structured to be completed in just 20 months, allowing students to quickly transition into their careers.

Program Structure

The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Technician program is a full-time, in-person course that spans a duration of 2 years. The program includes:

  • Hands-on training through a co-op work term, providing real-world experience.
  • Courses that cover installation, servicing, and maintenance of environmental systems.
  • Training in energy-efficient and environmentally friendly practices.
  • Utilization of industry-standard software for creating HRAC drawings.

Students will also prepare for the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) Gas Technician 2 (G.2) exams, which are essential for becoming a licensed gas technician. The program is designed to ensure that students are well-prepared for the workforce upon graduation.
