Program Overview

The Business School will be offering a variety of delivery modes for new students in all programs. These can include asynchronous learning, synchronous learning, hybrid, and on-campus deliveries, including evenings and weekends.

Graduates from the Business – Human Resources program from Centennial College will be awarded an Ontario College Diploma. This is a two-year (four-semester) program designed to prepare graduates to enter the growing field of human resources management, to prepare for a variety of careers in a shorter time period than having to complete an Advanced Diploma. In just two years, students will acquire the basic skills necessary to work in the exciting field of human resources (HR). Graduates will have a foundation of general business knowledge to help them understand how human resources contribute to organizational success.

Program Structure

The Business – Human Resources program is structured to provide a comprehensive education in human resources management over a period of two years (four semesters). The program includes:

  • Core courses in human resources management, business fundamentals, and communication.
  • Focus on specific HR functional areas, including recruitment and selection, compensation, and health and safety.
  • Optional co-op experience to gain hands-on work experience in the field.
  • Courses that qualify graduates towards the academic component of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
  • Additional courses required to meet the full academic component of professional designations.

This program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in various roles within the human resources sector.
