Humber’s Pharmacy Technician diploma program is designed to equip graduates with the necessary skills for a variety of careers in pharmacy settings, including community, hospital, industry, and long-term care. Program Structure
The Pharmacy Technician program at Humber spans 4 semesters, providing a structured and comprehensive educational experience. Students can choose from various start dates, including January, May, and September, with different completion timelines based on their start date:
- September starters complete the program in two academic years, including a summer break after the second semester.
- January starters finish in four consecutive semesters without breaks.
- May starters also complete the program in two academic years, including a winter break after the second semester.
This program offers an online option for students who prefer a more flexible learning environment. Additionally, it includes mandatory professional practicums, which provide essential workplace experience and industry contacts. Students will complete two unpaid five-week practicums in Semester 4, one in a retail/community pharmacy and another in a hospital pharmacy setting. This hands-on experience is crucial for applying theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
