Program Overview

This is one of the few Pre-Health Pathway programs in the Ontario College sector where students have the opportunity to gain science lab experience. If you are interested in pursuing a career in the health-care sector and you would like the opportunity to explore your options while developing the skills that are necessary for post-secondary success, then this is the program for you. In the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees program, you will strengthen your science, writing, and math skills while exploring and preparing you for career paths in biotechnology, pharmacy technician, registered or practical nursing, Chinese medicine, and paramedicine, to name a few.

The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in health sciences. The program is structured as follows:

Academic Requirements

The College Certificate - Pre-Health Sciences - Pathway To Advanced Diplomas And Degrees (PH111) program has specific academic requirements that prospective students must meet to be eligible for admission.

Minimum GPA: A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required for admission into the program.
International Students:
- International students must provide proof of previous education and may need to submit their transcripts for evaluation.

CAEL Online or In-Person: Overall band score of 60
Cambridge English Tests: Minimum B2 First / C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency 169 (with no single subscore below 162)
Duolingo Language Test: 105 and above
Humber English for Academic Purposes Pathway Program (EAP): Successful completion of the EAP certificate program with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 60% in Semester 2
IELTS Academic Level: Overall 6.0 AND No band below 5.5
LanguageCert Academic LCA: Overall 65-69 with no skill under 60
MET: 56
PTE Academic: 53 - 57
TOEFL Academic Level: 550 for paper-based test OR 80 (20L, 20W, 20S, 20R) for internet-based test
Integrated Skills in English (ISE): Overall score of 90 and a minimum score of 80 in each skill
