Program Overview

The Advanced College Diploma in Denturism at Georgian College is designed to equip students with specialized skills necessary for a successful career in denturism. Academic Requirements

To apply for the Advanced College Diploma in Denturism (DNTM) at Georgian College, applicants must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, mature student status
Grade 12 English (C or U)
Grade 12 Math (C or U)
Grade 12 Chemistry (C or U) or Grade 11 (U)
Grade 11 or 12 Biology (C or U)

Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing.

Applicants who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution and/or have relevant life/learning experience may also be considered for admission.

Selection Process: Applicants will be assessed based on previous academic achievements in the prerequisite courses and an average of other courses within their final year of study prior to applying to the program.

Criminal Reference/Vulnerable Sector Check: Placement agencies require an up-to-date clear criminal reference check and vulnerable sector check prior to going out on placement. Students should obtain their criminal reference three months prior to placement; checks conducted earlier may not be considered current. It is the student’s responsibility to provide the completed document prior to placement start.

Note: A record of criminal offences, for which a pardon has not been granted, may prevent students from completing their placements, thereby affecting their ability to graduate.

Additional information: Clinics may require students to have updated flu shots, TB testing, and Hepatitis B vaccination as well as a Police Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Screening). It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they are eligible to participate in clinical placements.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

English language proficiency

The language of instruction at Georgian College is English. In addition to the academic Academic Requirements, all applicants for whom English is not their first language and/or are coming from countries where English is not an official language, must provide proof of language proficiency.

Applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria to meet Georgian’s language proficiency requirements:

Must have completed three full years of study at the secondary school (high school) level in English in a country where English is a primary language (four years are required for BScN, Pharmacy Technician and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention. Study must be in Canada only for Pharmacy Technician) OR
Must have completed one full year of study in an accredited postsecondary program in English in a country where English is a primary language (not applicable to BScN, Pharmacy Technician and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention) OR
Must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or Canadian provincial equivalent) and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued by a public or Catholic school board (not applicable to BScN, Pharmacy Technician and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention) OR
Provide proof of graduation from one of the authorized Georgian College partner school pathway programs (not applicable to BScN or Pharmacy Technician) OR
Must have completed three years of study at a secondary private school in Ontario and received an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C)
