The Medical Laboratory Assistant program at Humber equips students with essential skills to perform pre-analysis components of medical lab work. Under the supervision of medical laboratory technologists, students learn to collect blood samples, perform ECGs, and utilize laboratory equipment effectively. The program emphasizes the development of communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for patient interaction. Graduates are eligible to take certification exams from the Medical Laboratory Professionals Association of Ontario (MLPAO) and the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS), enhancing their employability in the healthcare sector.
