Program Overview

The Motive Power Techniques - Truck and Coach Repair Certificate is a one-year program designed to equip students with essential skills for a career in the truck and coach repair industry. This program emphasizes hands-on learning, allowing students to gain practical experience in a well-equipped facility. With over 17,000 square feet of shop space, students will learn about various aspects of vehicle repair, including engines, transmissions, and electrical components. Graduates will also have the opportunity to receive exemptions from Level 1 of the Truck and Coach Technician apprenticeship in-school training, enhancing their career prospects in this high-demand field.

Program Structure

The Motive Power Techniques - Truck and Coach Repair program is structured to provide comprehensive training over a period of one year, divided into two academic terms. The program is delivered in person at the Guelph campus, ensuring students receive direct, hands-on instruction from experienced professionals. Key features of the program include:
