Academic Requirements

To apply for the Motive Power Techniques - Truck and Coach Repair Ontario College Certificate program, prospective students must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older with mature student status.

For details on the Mature Student definition, please refer to the college's guidelines.

Grade 12 compulsory English, C or U, or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Communications (COMM1251).
Grade 11 Mathematics, C, M (U/C) or U, or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Mathematics for Trades (MATH1420).
Students are required to provide their own CSA-approved footwear (Omega symbol required), safety glasses, and specified hand tools. The College provides all other tools required. The list of required tools is provided to students at the start of the program. Conestoga College Motive Power coveralls are mandatory in all Motive Power post-secondary programs and will be available at orientation.

Note: If your transcripts are from outside of Canada, you will need to obtain a course-by-course comprehensive evaluation. You can use an approved provider of credential evaluation services such as ICAS or WES. Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
