Program Overview
The Skilled Trades Techniques: Truck and Transport Service Technician program is designed for those interested in exploring various trades before committing to a specific field. In the first year, students will examine multiple trade areas, including truck and transport, while acquiring essential skills such as safety, rigging, communication, and blueprint reading. This foundational year allows students to gain a broad understanding of the trades.
In the second year, students will specialize in their chosen trade, focusing on in-depth skills necessary for a successful career. The program emphasizes practical, hands-on learning in workshops and includes a work placement, ensuring students are well-prepared for the job market. Graduates are in high demand, with many receiving job offers even before completing their studies.

The Skilled Trades Techniques program spans a total of two academic years of full-time study. The structure of the program is as follows:
- Year 1: Exploration of various trades, including truck and transport, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and welding.

Students attending the St. Andrews campus can specialize in Carpentry, Electrical: Construction, Electrical: Industrial, Welding, or Marine Diesel Mechanics. Those at the Woodstock campus can choose to specialize in Carpentry, Electrical: Construction, Welding & Metal Fabrication, Plumbing, or Truck & Transport Service Technician.
