Program Overview

The Automotive - Motive Power Technician program is designed for those curious about how engines work and what drives transmissions. This program emphasizes motor vehicle technology, combining theoretical and practical courses to prepare students for careers in the transportation industry. Students will gain trade-relevant skills and knowledge, enabling them to pursue various employment opportunities. The program adheres to the standards set by the Ministry and the Ontario College of Trades, ensuring that students receive the necessary in-school apprenticeship training for Levels 1 and 2. Graduates will earn a Motive Power Technician Diploma, which includes credits for all two levels of Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship training, along with two electric vehicle courses and an Ozone Depletion Prevention certificate.
