Academic Requirements

For the Aviation Management and Operations diploma program, applicants must meet the following entrance requirements:

Minimum GPA: Not specified.
Transcripts: Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
Prerequisite Courses:
- English Studies 12 (67%) or equivalent.
- One of the following Math courses:
  - Pre-Calculus 11 (50%)
  - Foundations of Math 11 (50%)
  - Workplace Math 11 (60%)

International Students: This program is available to international applicants. A valid BCIT study permit is required prior to starting the program. Students must complete the mandatory work component to qualify for graduation, and a co-op work permit is required prior to starting this component.

International students may want to consider the BCIT International Student Entry Program (ISEP) as an alternate mode of entry to this program.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Overall score 6.5, no band less than 5.5
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Overall score 60, no skill score less than 60
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) - Overall score 86, no section score less than 20
Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test - 70 overall band score with no component below 60
Duolingo English Test - 120 overall, no integrated subscore less than 95
Cambridge Assessment English - BCIT ISEP Online test (Cambridge Linguaskill) - B2 First or C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with minimum overall score of 176

Test results must be dated no more than two years before the start date of the program you’re applying to.
