Program overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category E (Electronics) program is a full-time diploma course designed to meet national standards and is approved by Transport Canada (TC). This program prepares students for a career as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, focusing on the certification of aircraft after maintenance, inspection, repair, or modification of electrical and electronic systems. Students will gain essential skills and knowledge to ensure that all aircraft systems are serviceable and fit for flight, making it a highly responsible and skilled occupation.

Program structure

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category E (Electronics) program consists of a total duration of 68 weeks of full-time studies. The program structure includes:

  • Approximately 50% of the time is dedicated to theoretical classroom learning.
  • The remaining time is spent on hands-on practical training in state-of-the-art shops and hangars.
  • Successful completion of the program provides students with a work experience credit of 18 months towards the 48 months required by Transport Canada for obtaining an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category E license.
  • Start dates are available in January and August each year.

This program is delivered in person at the Aerospace Technology Campus, ensuring students receive comprehensive training in both theory and practical applications.
