The Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology diploma, specializing in Electrical Power and Industrial Control, is a two-year program designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the technology used across various applications, including utility, industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. This program emphasizes practical, hands-on learning, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems. Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in paid co-operative education terms, enhancing their employability and industry experience. Program structure

The Electrical Power and Industrial Control option is structured as follows:

  • Program Length: Two years, full-time.
  • Delivery: In-person classes at the Burnaby Campus.
  • Intakes: Available in September and January each year.
  • Co-operative Education: Optional co-op terms are available, allowing students to gain practical experience in the industry.

This program is designed to be completed over four terms, with a balanced approach of lectures and labs. Students can expect to spend an average of 30 hours per week in lectures and labs, along with an additional 30 hours for assignments and studying.
