Academic Requirements

To apply for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (Automation and Instrumentation Option) diploma program, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:

English Language Proficiency: Applicants must have completed English Studies 12 with a minimum grade of 67% or an equivalent.
Mathematics: One of the following is required:
- Pre-Calculus 12 with a minimum grade of 73%
- Other acceptable BC and Yukon courses
- MATH 0001 – Technical Mathematics with a minimum grade of 73%
Chemistry: A minimum grade of 67% in Chemistry 11 is required.
Physics: One of the following is required:
- Physics 12 with a minimum grade of 67%
- PHYS 0312 – Technology Entry Physics 2 with a minimum grade of 67%

For international applicants, this program is available, and a valid BCIT study permit is required prior to starting the program. Students must also complete the mandatory work component to qualify for graduation, which requires a co-op work permit.
