The Event & Media Production (EMP) program at Seneca is a dynamic two-year diploma designed to immerse students in the exciting world of live events. From planning meetings and conferences to executing fundraisers, trade shows, and entertainment events, students will learn the essential skills needed to produce engaging content. This includes creating interactive presentations, videos, and multi-screen mixed media. Additionally, students will gain hands-on experience in venue scouting, floor plan creation, and the operation of event equipment, ensuring they are well-prepared for a career in this fast-paced industry.

Program structure

The Event & Media Production program is structured over a duration of 4 semesters (2 years). The program is delivered in a hybrid format, combining both online and in-person learning experiences. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Field Placement: A crucial component of the program, requiring students to complete 150 hours of field placement to gain practical experience in a professional setting.
  • Flexible Delivery: Some courses are available in a flexible format, allowing students to choose between attending in person or participating online.
  • Hybrid Learning: Students will engage in both online coursework and in-person classes, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
