Seneca’s two-year Acting for Camera and Voice diploma program offers exciting, hands-on learning experiences in the unique blend of film and voice acting. This program is designed to equip students with essential techniques that will enable them to build a strong foundation in stage acting, movement, voice, and camera acting. Students will also learn how to research roles, create audio and video demo reels, write scripts, and develop business management skills necessary for a successful acting career. The program has been recognized by Casting Workbook in their Top 20 Canadian Acting Schools list for 2021.

Program structure

The Acting for Camera and Voice program is structured over a duration of 4 semesters (2 years). It is delivered in a hybrid format, combining both online and in-person coursework. Students will need to attend the Seneca@York campus for certain in-person learning requirements. The program is available for both Canadian and international applicants, with start dates in January and September.

Academic Requirements

The Academic Requirements for the Acting for Camera & Voice (ACV) program are as follows:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or a mature applicant
English: Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent course
Audition (via video or in-person)

For international students, additional information is required based on your home country. Please note that all international applicants must meet Seneca’s Language Requirements. Additional documents/assessments may be required upon request.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

For those who do not meet the academic subject requirements, recommended upgrading is available.

Language Requirements

All applicants to Seneca must be well prepared to study in English. If you are coming from a country where English is not the primary language, you must show one of the following:

Successful completion of a minimum of two years of full-time study in a school and country where English is the primary language
Successful completion of a minimum of one year of full-time study at the postsecondary level in an institution and country where English is the primary language
Successful completion of an intensive English program
English proficiency test scores from one of the international English language testing bodies listed below. Only tests taken in the last two years are considered valid
