Program overview

The Game Art & Animation (GAA) program at Seneca Polytechnic is an eight-month graduate certificate designed to transform talented artists into skilled AAA game asset modellers. This program focuses on creating and animating environments, characters, and other assets within a 3D space. Students will gain hands-on experience with industry-relevant techniques taught by experienced professors, utilizing high-end computer hardware and software. The curriculum covers essential skills such as modelling, lighting, texturing, animation, scene staging, art direction, and production management, preparing graduates for a successful career in the gaming industry.

Program structure

The Game Art & Animation program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience over a duration of 2 semesters (8 months). The program is offered in a hybrid delivery format, combining online coursework with in-person learning requirements. Students will engage in:

  • Full-time study option
  • Hands-on projects to develop practical skills
  • Access to high-end technology and software
  • Collaboration with industry professionals

This program is available for both Canadian and international applicants, with start dates in January and September. Students will benefit from a curriculum that adapts to the evolving needs of the gaming industry, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future careers.
