Humber’s Theatre Arts - Technical Production diploma program equips students with essential skills and knowledge to kickstart their careers in the performing arts industry. The program emphasizes the creation of props, costumes, and set pieces, as well as the integration of light, sound, and projections into theatrical performances and live events. Students will gain foundational knowledge in stage management and collaborative teamwork, essential for success in the entertainment industry.

Program Structure

The Theatre Arts - Technical Production program spans 4 semesters, providing a comprehensive education in technical production for the performing arts. The program structure includes:

  • Hands-on learning through practical application in various production roles.
  • Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities, including field experiences and professional practicums.
  • Optional co-operative education, allowing students to gain paid work experience in their field.
  • Exposure to collaborative projects with other creative programs and industry partners.

 

Students will engage in a Professional Practice course to prepare for securing field experiences, committing 120 hours of practical application in the industry during Semester 3. The program emphasizes real-world application of skills learned in class, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for their careers.
