Humber Polytechnic's Comedy: Writing and Performance program is a dynamic and engaging three-semester diploma program designed to immerse students in the world of comedy. This program is taught over a single year, allowing students to quickly develop their skills in both writing and performance. Students will learn the art of comedy in a state-of-the-art Cultural Hub, which is equipped with advanced technology for teaching and performance. The curriculum includes a studio learning intensive followed by opportunities to produce varied performances. A unique aspect of this program is the chance to perform stand-up comedy weekly at YukYuk's Comedy Club in Toronto, providing real-world experience. Students will also engage in creating social media comedy content for platforms like TikTok and YouTube, and benefit from collaborations with other programs and master classes with guest artists.

The Comedy: Writing and Performance program spans 3 semesters, providing a comprehensive education in comedy. The structure of the program includes:

  • Intensive studio learning in the first ten weeks of each semester.
  • Four weeks dedicated to producing varied performances.
  • Weekly stand-up performances at YukYuk's Comedy Club.
  • Opportunities to create social media content for platforms like TikTok and YouTube.
