The Visual and Digital Media Arts program at Georgian College is designed to unleash your creative abilities and artistic skills. Academic Requirements

To apply for the Visual and Digital Media Arts Ontario College Diploma program, prospective students must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status with Grade 12 English (C or U).
Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing.
Applicants who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution and/or have relevant life/learning experience may also be considered for admission.

It is important to note that students are required to purchase art materials such as paints and canvas on an ongoing basis. Additionally, a personal tablet and stylus are required for digital drawing, with a recommendation for an Apple product to run the app, Procreate. Students can also use an equivalent Android tablet and stylus, but a different drawing app will be recommended as Procreate does not run on Android.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

At Georgian College, the language of instruction is English. Therefore, all applicants whose first language is not English, or who come from countries where English is not an official language, must provide proof of English language proficiency.

To meet Georgian's language proficiency requirements, applicants must fulfill **ONE** of the following criteria:

Completed three full years of study at the secondary school level in English in a country where English is a primary language.
Completed one full year of study in an accredited postsecondary program in English in a country where English is a primary language.
Possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or Canadian provincial equivalent) with an English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued by a public or Catholic school board.
Provide proof of graduation from one of the authorized Georgian College partner school pathway programs.
Completed three years of study at a secondary private school in Ontario and received an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C).
