Program Overview

The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees is an Ontario College Certificate program designed to be your first step toward further studies in health programs. This program focuses on developing essential employability skills that will set you on the path to a rewarding career in health care. Through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experiences, students will gain a solid foundation in the sciences, preparing them for advanced studies in various health-related fields.

Program Structure

The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees program is structured to be completed in 1 year of full-time study. The program is delivered through a hybrid model, which includes:

Hands-on laboratory experiences

Academic Requirements

To apply for the Pre-health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees program at Georgian College, applicants must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status.
Grade 12 English (C or U).
Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing.
Applicants who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution and/or have relevant life/learning experience may also be considered for admission.

It is important to note that all programs have their own minimum GPA requirements, and completing the Pre-health Sciences program does not guarantee acceptance into other programs.

For international students, it is advisable to contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support regarding specific requirements.

Additionally, transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure their application is processed in a timely manner.

Language Requirements

At Georgian College, the language of instruction is English. Therefore, all applicants whose first language is not English, or who come from countries where English is not an official language, must provide proof of English language proficiency.

Applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria to satisfy Georgian’s language proficiency requirements:

Must have completed three full years of study at the secondary school (high school) level in English in a country where English is a primary language (four years are required for BScN, Pharmacy Technician, and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention. Study must be in Canada only for Pharmacy Technician).
Must have completed one full year of study in an accredited postsecondary program in English in a country where English is a primary language (not applicable to BScN, Pharmacy Technician, and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention).
Must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or Canadian provincial equivalent) and English credit (Grade 12 U, M, or C) issued by a public or Catholic school board (not applicable to BScN, Pharmacy Technician, and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention).
Provide proof of graduation from one of the authorized Georgian College partner school pathway programs (not applicable to BScN or Pharmacy Technician).
Must have completed three years of study at a secondary private school in Ontario and received an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and English credit (Grade 12 U, M, or C).
