The Advanced College Diploma in Acupuncture (ACPT) is designed to equip students with the essential theoretical and clinical knowledge required to meet the entry-level standards of practice set by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO). This program emphasizes a blend of integrative healthcare models and Traditional Chinese Medicine, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to practice as regulated healthcare professionals. The Advanced College Diploma in Acupuncture is structured to be completed in 6 semesters, spanning a total duration of 3 years. The program is delivered on a full-time basis and includes the following key components:

Academic Requirements

To be eligible for the Advanced College Diploma in Acupuncture (ACPT), applicants must meet the following academic requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
Grade 12 English (C or U).
Grade 11 Biology (C or U) or Grade 12 Biology (U).

It is important to note that first-year enrollment is limited, and satisfying the minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee admission.

For international students, particularly those from Vietnam and other Asian countries, it is advisable to contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support regarding specific admission requirements.

Additionally, mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, or through equivalency testing.

Applicants who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution and/or have relevant life or learning experience may also be considered for admission.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Furthermore, students must have an up-to-date immunization record in compliance with the Public Hospitals Act, and a Hepatitis B vaccination is required for safety. Students are also required to have Level HCP CPR and Standard First Aid upon admission to the program.

The language of instruction at Georgian College is English. All applicants for whom English is not their first language must provide proof of language proficiency. For the Advanced College Diploma - Acupuncture (ACPT) program, the following English language tests are accepted:

Graduate of Level 8 of Georgian’s GAAS – English for Academic Purposes: 60% in certificate or completion of level 8 with 70% or higher

Cambridge English: C1 Advanced (CAE): 170
