Program Overview

Centennial College's Fitness and Health Promotion program is designed to provide students with a blend of hands-on practical learning and a solid academic foundation. This program prepares you for a rewarding career in helping individuals and groups achieve their highest potential for overall well-being. The curriculum includes a variety of essential topics such as anatomy, fitness assessment, nutrition, and injury management, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to meet the demands of the health and fitness industry.

 

Program Structure

The Fitness and Health Promotion program is a two-year diploma program consisting of four semesters. The program is delivered in a face-to-face format at the Progress Campus. Students will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that covers various aspects of fitness and health, including:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Fitness assessment
  • Nutrition
  • Health promotion
  • Leadership skills

Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in unique program options such as:

  • Field placements in the fitness industry
  • Certification opportunities, including Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Registered Health and Exercise Practitioner (RHEP)
  • Mental health certification through the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
