The Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing program at Sheridan College is designed to be forward-thinking, student-centred, and hands-on. Academic Requirements

To apply for the Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing program, applicants must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Program Eligibility:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
- English, Grade 12 (ENG4U)
- Biology, Grade 12 (U) (SBI4U or equivalent)
- Math, Grade 12 (U) (MDM4U, MCV4U, MHF4U or equivalent)
- Chemistry, Grade 12 (U) (SCH4U or equivalent)
- Two additional Grade 12 credits at the U or M level
- Minimum 75% overall average
Alternatively, applicants may have two semesters of postsecondary education including required English (ENG4U or equivalent) and all required courses listed above with a minimum 75% overall average.

Criminal Record Check:

Sheridan field placement agencies may require a police record check for criminal offences, a vulnerable sector check, and/or a current acceptable record of immunization. Students will be required to provide this documentation directly to their field placement prior to the start of the placement and at their own expense. Students who cannot meet these requirements may have limited field placement opportunities.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

All applicants to Sheridan must demonstrate English-language proficiency. If English is not your first language, or if your previous education was in another language, you can demonstrate your knowledge and skills in English in three ways:

Successful completion of Sheridan’s ESL program.
Previous secondary or postsecondary experience in English.
Achieving the minimum requirements of an English-language proficiency test.

The following English-language proficiency tests are accepted for the Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing program:

TOEFL iBT	Overall score 80 with no individual section below 20.	Overall score 88 with no individual section below 21.
Duolingo English Language Test	Overall score of 105 with no integrated subscore lower than 85.	Overall score of 115 with no integrated subscore lower than 95.
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language)	Overall score 60 with no individual section below 50.	Overall score 70 with no individual section below 60.

Test results must be completed within the past two years (24 months) of the first day of classes. No other tests above are accepted.
