The Law Clerk (Accelerated) program at Seneca is designed for individuals with prior education who wish to fast-track their career in the legal field. This program prepares students to work under the supervision of a lawyer in a dynamic legal environment. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of legal principles and ethics, along with practical training that ensures success in the workplace. The curriculum encompasses various areas of law, including criminal, immigration, intellectual property, personal injury, real estate, corporate, commercial, and family law, as well as litigation, wills, and estates. A strong emphasis is placed on developing technological skills essential for modern legal practice.

Program structure

The Law Clerk (Accelerated) program is structured to be completed in 2 semesters (9 months). It offers a flexible delivery format, allowing students to choose between in-person and online learning options. Key features of the program include:

  • Field placement opportunity at the end of the final semester, providing 20 days of unpaid practical work experience.
  • Part-time study option available for those who may need a more flexible schedule.
  • Engagement with current law clerks, industry experts, and legal recruiters through workshops and events.
  • Courses delivered in a flexible format, combining in-person and online learning.

This program meets the eligibility requirements for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), allowing international students to gain valuable work experience in Canada after graduation.
