Program overview

Seneca's Paralegal (Accelerated) program is designed to prepare students to become licensed paralegals in accordance with the Law Society Act. This accelerated program requires prior education and equips students with the necessary skills to offer specified legal services directly to the public or work as salaried employees in various legal environments. Throughout the program, students will gain a solid understanding of general legal principles, legal ethics, and small business practices. Successful completion qualifies graduates to write the Law Society of Ontario licensing examination, which is essential for practicing as a paralegal in Ontario. A strong emphasis is placed on effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure success in the legal profession.

Program structure

The Paralegal (Accelerated) program at Seneca is structured to be completed in 3 semesters, spanning a total of 13 months. This in-person program is offered at the Seneca@York campus and includes the following key features:
