Program Overview

Do you love dynamic and fast-paced environments? A career in hospitality is flexible and creative, allowing you to meet new people every day. The NAIT Hospitality Management program prepares you to thrive in the accommodations, food and beverage, event management, and tourism industries. Through a combination of labs and lectures, you will gain broad business knowledge and career-ready skills, while also developing supervisory skills to progress towards more complex management roles.

Program Structure

The Hospitality Management program is designed to be completed in 2 years (Full-time). This immersive program combines classroom teaching with hands-on learning experiences, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the workforce. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Focus on service skills for food and beverage, catering, and front-desk operations.
  • Foundational business courses in the first year, followed by advanced topics in the second year.
  • Hands-on learning through industry-relevant case work, visits, and networking opportunities.
  • Access to an industry-relevant property management system and service experience in Ernest's dining room.
  • Optional co-op pathway, allowing students to gain practical experience through a mandatory co-op work practicum.

Students can expect to spend approximately 20 hours per week attending classes, along with an additional 20-30 hours for studying and assignments.
