Academic Requirements

To apply for the Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science (C405), candidates must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Completion of a three-year or four-year Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree (no specific major required, although a major in psychology or a related discipline is highly recommended).
Alternatively, a two-year or three-year diploma in a human services discipline is acceptable (again, a major in psychology is recommended).
It is recommended that related degrees or diplomas include at least one or more psychology course(s).

Please note that this program has a strong focus on behaviour change and behavioural sciences, so some previous psychology-related education is highly recommended in order to be successful in the program.

For international students, it is important to be aware that transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases. Additionally, applicants with international transcripts who do not provide English proficiency test results must test at the college level in the George Brown College English assessment to be considered for admission.

Special requirements include:

Completion of mandatory Pre-placement health form requirements, which may take up to eight to ten weeks to complete.
Proof of medical records (including TDAP shot, MMR, Varicella, Hep B blood test reports/titres, and Two-Step TB Skin Test).
Proof of a clear Vulnerable Sector Check, which must be renewed every year.

Language Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Graduate Certificate - Autism And Behavioural Science (C405) program, applicants must provide proof of English proficiency if English is not the first language in their country. The following English language tests and their respective minimum scores are accepted:

George Brown English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program: Level 8
IELTS (Academic): 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill band
TOEFL: 80 (online), with a minimum of 20 in each skill band
Duolingo English Test: 110 min overall score, 90 min production score
MELAB: 80
PTE (Academic): 54, overall minimum 50 in each skill band
CAEL: 60 (overall)
Cambridge English Exams (B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency): 169 or more (with no individual skill below 162)

For applicants who do not meet the English language entry requirements, conditional admission may be offered, subject to successful completion of the required level in the EAP program.
