Program Overview

The Industrial Mechanical Millwright Technician program at Cambrian College equips students with the essential skills to become experts in industrial maintenance. In this program, students will learn to install, repair, and maintain complex machinery commonly found in various sectors such as mining, refining, forestry, and manufacturing. The hands-on experience gained in the millwright lab includes working with industrial equipment, rigging, hydraulics, and pump stations. Students will enhance their electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and computer-aided drafting skills while developing troubleshooting and repair abilities. This program also offers an optional paid co-op, allowing students to apply their skills in a real-world work environment, preparing them for diverse millwright job opportunities.

Program Structure

The Industrial Mechanical Millwright Technician program is structured to provide comprehensive training over a period of 4 semesters (2 years). The program is delivered on-campus and is designed to ensure that students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Optional Paid Co-op: Students have the opportunity to participate in a co-op program that is directly related to their field of study.
