Program Overview

The Welding and Fabrication Technician program at Cambrian College is designed to take students through the entire process of metal fabrication, from the initial engineering drawings to the final inspection of the finished product. Students will gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art welding lab, utilizing industry-standard equipment to develop their welding skills. This program not only prepares students for immediate employment but also offers the option to start an apprenticeship. Unique opportunities include working on community and applied research projects, as well as participating in work preparation sessions that help students craft industry-specific resumes and improve their interviewing skills. An optional paid co-op is also available, providing valuable industry training directly related to the program of study.

Program Structure

The Welding and Fabrication Technician program is structured over a duration of 4 semesters, or 2 years. The program is delivered on-campus and is full-time, ensuring that students receive comprehensive training in welding and fabrication techniques. Key features of the program structure include:
