Program Overview
This program will prepare you to become a maintenance mechanic or technician by exposing you to the manufacturing, production, and maintenance needs of several different industries. You will develop skills in the theory and practice of machine fabrication and maintenance procedures, including the installation, service, repair, and overhaul of industrial machinery. Graduates are eligible for exemption from all in-school requirements for IMM 433A apprenticeship training and have the opportunity to meet the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development Working at Heights training requirement.
Program Structure
The Mechanical Technician – Millwright program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in mechanical maintenance. The program is structured as follows:
- Program Length: Four semesters
- Delivery: In-person
- Co-op Option: Available, allowing students to gain practical experience in the field.
Students will be invited to apply for the co-op option during their first academic semester. The co-op work term is a mandatory component of the program, providing students with valuable hands-on experience in a real-world setting.
