BCIT's Mining and Mineral Resource Engineering program is tailored to equip students with the necessary skills for successful careers in the mineral resource sector. Program Structure

The Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Resource Engineering program is structured as follows:

  • Total Credits: 222.0 credits
  • Delivery Mode: In-person at Burnaby Campus
  • Class Hours: Average of 32 hours per week in the first year, reducing to 25 hours in subsequent years
  • Workload: Expect an additional 25 hours per week for assignments, labs, and studying
  • Accreditation: Designed to be eligible for accreditation by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB)

Students will engage in a mix of lectures, labs, tutorials, and field exercises, including day-long and multi-day field trips to geological sites and active mining operations.
