Program Overview

The BCIT Graduate Certificate in Business Administration is designed to equip both domestic and international students with the essential skills needed for intermediate management positions. This full-time program spans a duration of 9 months, starting in September, and is delivered in a blended format that combines in-person classes at the Vancouver campus with online learning. Students will gain practical business skills at a master’s level, which can be applied across various industries. Graduates have the opportunity to either enter the workforce in managerial roles or continue their studies towards a master’s degree.

Academic Requirements

To apply for the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration at BCIT, applicants must meet the following entrance requirements:

Post-secondary education: A recognized bachelor’s degree in any field is required.

For international students, the following additional requirements apply:

Credential evaluation: Applicants who have completed post-secondary studies outside of Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand will require a basic evaluation of their credentials by the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES). Credential evaluation reports from other Canadian services may be considered. These reports must include course-by-course evaluations and GPA calculations.

It is important to note that transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Additionally, it is recommended that students have at least two years of progressive work experience to facilitate graduate-level discussions and learning outcomes.

COMM 0007 – Introductory Communication for Technology Entry and COMM 0016 – Communication with ELT - 67%
BCIT Technical Academic English (TAE) 5 (International Student Entry Program - ISEP) - 60%
Articulated EAP courses - 70% or B
3.0 credits of post-secondary English, Humanities, or Social Sciences from an English-speaking institution - 67%
Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test - 70 overall band score with no component below 60
Cambridge Assessment English BCIT ISEP Online test (Cambridge Linguaskill) - B2 First or C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with minimum overall score of 176
Duolingo English Test - 120 overall, No integrated subscore less than 95
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Note: IELTS Academic only) - Overall score 6.5, No band less than 6.0
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Overall score 60, No skill score less than 60
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) (BCIT Destination code: 9110) - Overall score 86, No section score less than 20
