Program Overview

The Automotive Service Technician and Operations - Non-Co-op Option at BCIT is designed to produce skilled technicians capable of diagnosing and repairing the sophisticated systems found in modern vehicles. This full-time diploma program spans two years and is tailored for international students aiming to enter the automotive service and repair industry. The program emphasizes hands-on training, technical skills, and English language development, preparing graduates for various roles within the automotive sector. Students will learn to integrate theoretical concepts with practical applications, ensuring they are well-equipped for their future careers.

 

Program Structure

The Automotive Service Technician and Operations - Non-Co-op Option is structured as follows:

  • Program Length: 2 years (full-time)
  • Credits: 120.5 credits required for completion
  • Delivery Format: In-person classes at the Burnaby campus
  • Term Structure:
    • Term 1: 15 weeks
    • Term 2: 15 weeks
    • Term 3: 15 weeks
    • Term 4: 15 weeks
  • Start Dates: Every 2nd September

This program does not include a co-op option, allowing for additional in-shop training time at BCIT. Students will gain practical experience and develop essential skills for the automotive service industry.
