Program overview

The Integrated Engineering (IE) program at Western University is a fully accredited multidisciplinary Engineering program that emphasizes integrated systems-level analysis and design. This program prepares students to model and design complex systems, while also exploring the sociotechnical interactions between engineering and its broader environments. The IE program is built on three core pillars: Integrated Systems Design, Impact Management and Sustainability, and Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Technology Commercialization. This comprehensive approach equips students with the skills necessary to adapt to the evolving fields of Engineering.

Program structure

The Integrated Engineering program at Western University is designed to be completed in four years of full-time study. The program structure includes:

  • Core design courses that focus on integrated systems.
  • Interdisciplinary studies that examine the impact of engineering on sociocultural and economic systems.
  • Technical track options that allow students to tailor their studies to specific fields of interest.
