Academic Requirements

To apply for the Bachelor of Arts - Psychology (General) program at the University of Windsor, prospective students should be aware of the following Academic Requirements:

• Minimum GPA: A minimum GPA of 70% is required for admission.
• Transcripts: Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
• International Students: Specific requirements for international students include:
  • Submission of official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
  • Proof of completion of secondary education equivalent to the Canadian high school diploma.
  • For Vietnamese and other Asian students, additional documentation may be required to verify educational credentials.
• Prerequisite Courses: Students must have completed specific prerequisite courses, including:
  • One of the following: English, Mathematics, or a Social Science course.
  • At least one additional course in a Social Science or Humanities subject.

Language Requirements

For applicants whose native language is not English, a satisfactory score on an English proficiency test administered by one of the following institutions is required:

• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
• Carleton Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL)
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Academic
• Pearson - Minimum score 65 for IELTS of 6.5, and a minimum score of 68 for IELTS of 7.0.
• Duolingo English Test - Minimum score of 120.
• International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC) - Completion of the ILAC Pathway Program Level 3.3.
• International Centre for English for Academic Preparation Inc. (ICEAP) - Completion of the ICEAP Toronto Education Cohort Program (Pathway Program) with an EAP Certificate and a minimum grade of 70%.

All test scores are valid for 2 years from the date the test was taken. Tests must be valid at the beginning of the term in which a student starts their program.

Applicants are exempt from submitting an English language proficiency examination score if any one of the following conditions is true:

1. Within the past two years you have completed a university degree at a Canadian institution.
2. Within the past two years you have completed a university degree at an institution where English was the primary language of instruction, as indicated on the exemption list.
