Program overview
The Master of Science in Management program at the University of Ottawa is tailored to cultivate experts in evidence-based management. This program emphasizes the development of applied research knowledge and skills across various concentrations, including Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Accounting, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources, Business Analytics, and Marketing & Behavioral Science. Program structure
The Master of Science in Management program offers three distinct options for students:
- One-Year MSc with Research Project: This option can be completed in approximately 12 months and requires students to complete 30 units, including eight 3-unit courses and a 6-unit research project.
- CO-OP MSc with Research Project: This option spans either five or six terms, allowing for completion in approximately 20 to 24 months. Students must also complete 30 units, including eight 3-unit courses and a 6-unit research project.
- Two-Year MSc with Thesis: This option can be completed in about 24 months and requires 21 units, consisting of seven 3-unit courses and a thesis.
Students in the CO-OP option are required to complete two work terms, while all students must attend a series of Management Research Seminars throughout their program. The program is designed to be completed on a full-time basis, although part-time options may be available for students with a clear plan for timely completion.
