Academic Requirements

To apply for the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), prospective students must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Academic Requirements:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
- A minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses, including:
  - English (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred, minimum grade 70%)
  - Grade 11 U or M or Grade 12 U mathematics (minimum grade 60%) from one of the following: MCF3M, MCR3U, MHF4U, MCV4U, MDM4U.
- Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% is required for admission consideration; however, higher averages may be necessary due to competition.
Non-Academic Requirements:
- This is a Grades-Plus program, meaning admission decisions are based on both academic performance and non-academic criteria such as interviews, auditions, essays, and portfolios.
- Creative project submission is required, which includes:
  - Three to five photographs of interior spaces with a 100-150 word explanation.
  - Photographs must be original and taken by the applicant in the current year.
- Submissions will be evaluated on originality, composition, and creativity/passion.
International Students:
- International students must meet the same academic and non-academic requirements as domestic students.
- Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
